This paper looks into the goals of education in Nigeria and various attempts made to improve the curricula of educational institutions in the country towards achieving set goals. Different definitions of curriculum are also examined and a brief discussion made on the steps in developing a curriculum for a given school system. The paper also explores various health benefits derived from engaging in art activities, and or taking pleasure in watching artists and their works. The paper sees Art as a way to therapy. Review of literary works is adopted as a method of research and an appraisal of the present state of Nigerian schools is made, using Lagos State as an example.
