PLACEMENT ALTERNATIVES FOR THE EDUCABLE MENTALLY RETARDED: INCLUSION OR SEGREGATION

The placement of the educable mentally retarded person has generated a lot of controversy. Is it possible to place the educable mentally retarded in the general education class? Should inclusion of segregation be practiced with the educable mentally retarded? This paper examined the placement alternatives available for the mentally retarded person. The inclusion debate and the educable mentally retarded person. It was concluded that the educable mentally retarded person should be included in the regular education class with appropriate for effective teaching and learning.
