This study assesses the research methods and analysis of statistical techniques employed by educational researchers, and also surveys unpublished doctoral dissertation from 2008 to 2012. The study answers two research questions. Since the data were for past periods, descriptive historical research method was used for the study. One hundred and ninety-five doctoral theses were used for the study. The study found that frequently used research methods consisted of survey, correlational study, and case study. Descriptive statistics, t-test and chi-square were frequently used statistical techniques for analysis. The trends of frequently used analysis of methods and statistical techniques stayed relatively steady. It is concluded that lack of new methods and techniques have combined to undermine the quality of educational research. The researcher recommends among others that there is the need for doctoral students to adopt new innovations by changing from the frequently used research methods and statistical techniques to new and relevant methods and techniques. | Mamman, J.S | 27 | Educational Forum | 2018-06-01 | ||
